MUMBAI: The first season of ‘The Voice India’, which is an adaptation of the original Holland-based singing reality show ‘The Voice’, has attracted quite an audience in the country. And now, its panel of judges has been voted the best judges at the recent 14th Indian Telly Awards.
Himesh Reshammiya, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Mika Singh took home the title for ‘Judge on a TV Show’ at the award ceremony that was held Saturday, 28 November. The other judging panels nominated in the category included Karan Johar, Shahid Kapoor and Malaika Arora for Colors’ ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’; Remo D’Souza for ‘Dance Plus’; Geeta Kapoor, Terence Lewis and Govinda for ‘Dance India Dance’, and Vishal Dadlani , Salim Merchant and Sonakshi Sinha for ‘Indian Idol Junior’.
Chauhan, who is well known for her Bollywood playback singing career also put on a dance performance to some of her own songs on the award night, while her co-judges Shaan and Reshammiya graced the event.
Another singing reality show that won on the night was ‘Indian Idol Junior’. The singing reality show, which airs on Sony Entertainment Television, won the award for best Singing Talent Show. The reality show competed against &TV’s ‘The Voice India’ and Star Plus’ ‘India’s Rawstar.’
The award ceremony also witnessed other popular music personalities including Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Meyiang Chang and veteran Bollywood singer, Udit Narayan.
The 14th Indian Telly Awards was held at Chitrakoot Ground, Andheri, and will be broadcast on &TV.
