MUMBAI: After posting a Facebook status that read like a possible suicide note, Irish singer Sinead O'Connor has been found and is reportedly receiving medical assistance after taking an alleged overdose in a hotel room in Ireland.
A source in the know of the situation told Billboard that O'Connor "has been located and is safe", reports hollywoodreporter.com.
O'Connor's Facebook post on Sunday came from her verified page. She added that she is staying at a hotel in Ireland under a different name.
Over the past 24 hours, there have been a series of disturbing posts on O'Connor's Facebook page, stemming from a battle with Irish folk musician Lunny, the father of her youngest son, Shane, whom the singer alleges needs psychological treatment and Lunny will not allow her to see him.
Dublin police had no comment on the situation.
O'Connor's Facebook post, which seems to have been written by the Irish singer-songwriter, detailed her struggle with Lunny over Shane, whom O'Connor says she is not allowed to see even though he is "unwell".
In her post, O'Connor also said she was in a hotel room under a different name and had "taken an overdose".
