MUMBAI: Popular songwriter, composer, producer and director Mikey McCleary is doing some good work on the music front. For after composing music for the tracks ‘Neend Na Mujhko Aaye’ and ‘Eena Meena Deeka’ from the Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer- ‘Shaandar’, he will next showcase his musical work in two other Bollywood films- the SRK-Kajol starrer ‘Dilwale’, and Naseeruddin Shah’s ‘Waiting’.
The music composer has already completed work on the projects, both of which are yet to release. Elaborating on his work in ‘Dilwale’, McCleary said, “I have just finished making one song for ‘Dilwale’. It is a composition by Pritam, which I have reworked in my 'Bartender' style.” As far as ‘Waiting’ is concerned, the composer is excited about collaborating with indie musicians- Papon and Ankur Tewari for the title track of the film.
Furthermore, talking about the success of both his ‘Shaandaar’ tracks McCleary averred, “I had a lot of positive responses for my version of ‘Neend Na Mujhko Aaye’. It is a beautiful song, while ‘Eena Meena Deeka’ is a fun song. I like the mad way Rachel Varghese sang it.”
Apart from composing music for films and TV commercials, McCleary has also ventured into a new space. He has started a singer’s booking agency called ‘TVC Voice’. The agency is based around a website that profiles the work of singers, and helps clients book singers for advertisements.
Currently, TVC Voice has more than 30 singers, including some big names like Anushka Manchanda, Nikhil D’Souza, Shalmali Kholgade, ishQ Bector and many more.
However, apart from the things he is doing, what McCleary really wants to do is work with German composer and record producer Hans Zimmer because he loves his film scores.
