MUMBAI: Getting an opportunity to play a Disney princess is probably every girl’s dream. But, not everyone is as lucky as Aishwarya Majmudar. The ‘Aaj Unse Kehna Hai’ singer recently got the opportunity to not just sing songs for the 2013 animated film ‘Frozen’, but she also got an opportunity to play Princess Anna.
The singer gave her melodious voice to the Disney character and she is basking in its glory. “Getting an opportunity to associate with Disney was my lifelong dream. I am super excited about my debut as a voice artist,” says Majmudar.
However, dubbing for the film was not at all easy reveals Majmudar, “Since, ‘Frozen’ is an English movie, the characters lip movements are that way. Therefore, while dubbing it in Hindi, we had to be very sure of the words and the pace with which we spoke. Our words had to match their facial expressions.”
The singer also learnt a lot more about her voice with the help of two voice coaches. “This was for the first time that I realised that one has to sing while speaking and the coaches helped me a lot with it. They also taught me to use voices from different parts of the body – stomach, chest, throat, etc. It was challenging, but I had lot of fun,” said the singer.
Majmudar has sung five songs in the film, and two of them are her favourites. The English versions of the song are ‘Love Is An Open Door’ and ‘For The First Time In Forever’ while their Hindi versions are called ‘Khula Pyaar Ka Jaha’ and ‘Aya Hai Pehli Baar Yeh Lamha.’
The Hindi version of ‘Frozen’ will premiere on 12 December, 2015 at 12 noon on Disney channel.
