MUMBAI: As the world still tries to contemplate the harsh reality that legendary icon David Bowie is no more with us, some managed to gather words and emotions to acknowledge the artist's influence on their work and lives. Celebrities and fans from various walks of life used social media and other mediums to express their shock, and celebrate Bowie’s life that lasted unparalleled 69 years. Bowie was a musician, a poet, a science enthusiast, political, a master of reinvention and a universal symbol of 'self-appreciation' and ‘self-acceptance’, and his legacy touched souls and inspired brains of various people from these communities.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron offered his condolences through Facebook and Twitter.

On his facebook post, Cameron paid more tribute calling him a master of reinvention
"David Bowie was someone who people of my age, and those quite a bit older, felt we grew up with. He provided a soundtrack to our lives, from the first time I heard Space Oddity to the pride of welcoming British athletes at the London Olympics to one of his masterpieces - 'Heroes'. He was also a master of reinvention, who kept getting it right, leaving a body of work that people will still be listening to in a 100 years time. He was someone who truly deserves to be described as a genius."
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn called Bowie a great musician and an entertainer. Speaking on a radio show, Corbyn added -
"As soon as I heard of his death, very, very sad, Life On Mars comes flowing back into my mind. Wonderful song, wonderful guy," he said.
The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby on the BBC 4 programme said
"I'm very very saddened to hear of his death. I remember sitting and listening to his songs endlessly in the '70s particularly, and always really relishing what he was, what he did, the impact he had."
