MUMBAI: Adele’s single ‘Hello’ from the album ‘25’ continues to be the most talked-about single since its release and hence has reached another milestone. The track crossed 1 billion views on YouTube just 87 days after it was uploaded. This development makes ‘Hello’ the fastest video to cross 1 billion views, comfortably beating the previous record holder- PSY for ‘Gangnam Style’ which crossed 1 billion views in almost twice the number of days compared to ‘Hello’ - 158.
The 1 billion YouTube record isn’t the only accomplishment the 27-year-old made news for in the month of January. The pop sensation appeared in a Carpool Karaoke video for James Corden’s ‘The Late Late Show’, and her on-the-spot renditions of Spice Girls ‘Wannabe’ and Nicki Minaj’s rap ‘Monster’ garnered the video over 46 million views- the most viral video any late night show has ever produced so far.
‘Hello’ becomes the seventeenth and the quickest to join the esteemed club of videos to cross 1 billion views. Of the 17 videos that crossed a billion views, Eminem ft. Rihanna’s ‘Love The Way You Lie’ took the longest to reach the milestone- 1989 days.
