New Delhi: Daler Mehndi , the brand ambassador for Celebrity Cricket League's new team 'Punjab De Sher', told radioandmusic.com that he was excited with his role as brand ambassador of a team which comprised of all sections of the entertainment industry of Punjab.
Mehndi said that he had penned the song 'Aaye Punjab De Sher' which had been inspired by the title of the team. Mehndi further revealed that he had also been approached by the Mumbai team to collaborate with them, but had so far not taken any decision as he was already associated with 'Punjab De Sher'.
'Punjab De Sher' has Mika Singh, Jimmy Shergill, Ayushman Khurana, Yuvraj Hans, Jassi Gill, Babbal Rai and many other popular faces as the team members.
The 6th edition of CCL will kick start from 23rd January with the opening match between 'Mumbai Heroes' and 'Punjab De Sher'. The league will be hosted across various venues like Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Kochi and Hyderabad.
CCL, launched in 2011, is T20 cricket tournament which consists of eight teams, each one representing the Bollywood, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bhojpuri, Bengali and Punjabi film industries featuring some of the most popular actors and celebrities from each respective industry.
Played over four weekends between January and February every year, CCL brings together over 200 film celebrities from all over the country, travelling to various corners to entertain their fans and audiences.
