MUMBAI: Bollywood’s most prolific lyricist Sameer Anjaan has got the official nod. He has entered the coveted Guinness World Records for composing the most number of Hindi film songs.
Sameer has written 3524 songs in 650 Bollywood movies, and is now the first Guinness Record possessor in this particular category. A special event was held in Mumbai recently, where The Guinness World Records spokesperson awarded the official certificate to Sameer.
A delighted Sameer celebrated the victory by launching a Video Jukebox of his most well-known songs titled ‘Top twenty five Songs of Sameer - Guinness World Record Holder’ for his fans at the event. A number of music industry personalities such as Jatin Lalit, Anu Malik, Bappi Lahiri, Anand Milind, Viju Shah, Kumar Shanu, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, Sukhwinder Singh, Abhijeet, Sadhna Sargam, Shaan and Suresh Wadkar also attended the event.
Son of well known lyricist Anjaan, Sameer Anjaan carried the legacy of his father to the fore. Among his popular lyrics rank “Akhiyan Milaoon Kabhi Akhiyan Churaoon”, “Teri Adaon Pe Marta Hoon”, “Abhi Saans Lene Ki Fursat Nahin Hai”, “Mera Yaar Dildar Bada Sona” and several more.
