MUMBAI: Let's face it- When musicians announce their tours, organisersand fans quickly make the most and the best of it, and more often thannot, the tours conclude with little or no hindrances. The flawlessprocess from the announcement of the show to the final bow on thestage requires a lot of precision and proper execution from theorganisers. However, it does not always go as planned, and believe itor not, the 'new age' musicians also make for the blame. In the age, when Dave Grohl pulls off an entire concert with a broken leg, pop stars and artists cancel their respective shows for bizarrest of reasons. The sudden cancellations lead to tremendous financial losses for the organisers, severe heart breaks for the fans and an unwelcoming publicity for the musician.
1. Ariana Grande
The 22-year-old American singer's name did not ring a bell for many until late 2015. The inconsiderate singer took to social media to issue an apology for the cancellation of her tour. "babies, I’m so sad I won’t be able to make it abroad this December but I can’t wait to see u & reschedule for next year.i love you so much,” said her tweet. The singer did not provide any official reason for the cancellation, however if reports are to be believed, there's an interesting story behind it. Ariana Grande cited an emergency dental surgery as the reason. Grande's justification turned out to be untrue, as more sources confirmed her dissatisfaction over the apology for the infamous 'donut-licking' incident led to the last minute cancellation.
2. Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus has been a musician for over a decade now, and the singer has more controversies to her name than hits. Miley and controversies cannot stay apart, and the singer cancelled her 'Bangerz' tour due to sinus infections issue. The reason was legitimate, however, the timing of the announcement was inexcusable. The announcement was made thirty minutes prior to the moment Cyrus was supposed to appear on the stage, and the thousands of fans waiting at the venue booed their way back to
the exit.
3. Jonas Brothers
2013 was a very dark period for Jonas Brothers and their fans. Not only did the band break-up in the calendar year, but earlier the same month, Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas cancelled their 19-date tour just before it started. Hey Jonas Brothers, how about some courtesy and respect to the fans who bought your tickets for an insanely expensive amount? The brothers tweeted -"Bear with us" and "Please hold while we get out s**t together" without confirming the concrete reason. However, a couple of weeks later, the band decided to discontinue as a team.
4. Justin Bieber
Bieber continues to remain the king of jackasses when it comes to discontinuing his own shows or retiring an entire gig just because he was too lazy. During one of his tour gigs, Bieber stood with a towel at the edge of the stage, and as expected, a group of front-row 'beliebers' tried to pull the towel, and thus Bieber. The action prompted Bieber to walk off the stage and never return back for the night. What an absolutely genuine and legitimate reason to be a jackass, eh Bieber?
5. Kanye West
Kanye West does what Kanye knows best. However, disappointing his fans may not be one of the aspects that makes him one of the hottest musical acts of this era, but Yeezus cannot make everyone happy every time, can he? The rapper is not willing to reveal the reason, but the timing of the cancellation helped media and the fans connect the dots. Kanye cancelled the show just one day prior to proposing his then-girlfriend Kim Kardashian.
