MUMBAI: Singer and wife of composer director Vishal Bhardwaj, Rekha Bhardwaj has brought out an album of Rabindra sangeet.
This album also features renowned exponent of the genre Srabani Sen. In this album, Rekha Bhardwaj has sung three solo numbers- ‘Mono Mor Meghero Shongi’, ‘Aha Tomar Shonge Praner Khela’ and ‘Bajilo Kaharo Beena’.
According to the singer, Tagore’s songs are 'brilliant which have innate melancholy'. Rekha stated that she had been introduced to Tagore’s songs and dance-dramas in her early days and her favourite number among the recorded three is ‘Aha Tomar Sange Praner Khela’.
‘Tagore & We 3’ is the brainchild of Soumyojit and Sourendro. The album also consists of 'Aha Aji E Basante' by Srabani Sen and 'Chiro Sokha Hey' by Salim Hassan Chisthi. The 'Mileya Mileya' singer believes that she had lots of Bengali influences in her childhood days which helped her and the recording of Tagore’s tracks is a huge honour and it is an educational exercise for her.
