MUMBAI: Singer Raja Hasan is part of Box Cricket League team Jaipur Raj Joshiley which recently unveiled the team jersey at an event in Mumbai.
The team, led by Kamya Punjabi will feature television actors like Rajiv Thakur, Devoleena Bhattacharjee, Annuraag Sharma, Balraj Syal, Ravish Desai, Mughda Chapekar, Cheshta Bhagat, Nalini Negi, Avinash Sachdev, Renee Dhyani, Gagan Malik and Pratap Hada, along with Raja Hasan. The Box Cricket is played by several teams in a closed studio. Raja Hasan, the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge (2007) runner-up is one of the participants. We asked him about the show and his experience and a little about his musical journey after Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challange.
After Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Hasan has sung for several Hindi movies such as ‘Dhun Lagi’, ‘Agre Ka Ghagra’ from 'Jai Veeru', ‘Wallah Re Wallah’ from 'Tees Maar Khan', ‘Aali Re’ from the movie 'No One Killed Jessica', ‘Rahiman Ishq Ka Dhaga Re’ and ‘Pani Ko Taraste’ from 'Well Done Abba', 'Lucky Boy' from 'Bachna Ae Haseeno', the title track of ‘Chalo Dilli’, ‘Sharabi’ from 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2' and many more.
While talking to radioandmusic.com, Raja Hasan stated that “Cricket brings back early days’ memories. Playing the sport gives me a different type of thrill. I had to lose few kilos of weight for the game and I am happy to be a part of Box Cricket League.’’
The singer also said that in case his team wins the game, he will compose and sing a fresh new victory song. According to him, “I feel blessed that people recognise me because of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, it gave me a lot, and now BCL is a completely different thing. I hope people will like to see this side of mine as well.’’
