MUMBAI: Manoj Muntashir ranks high among the preferred names in the Indian music industry today. The writer-lyricist has 85 songs releasing this year. Some of these, including ones from ‘Wazir’, ‘Sanam Re’, ‘Mastizaade’ and ‘Jai Gangaajal’, have already made it to the hit bracket.

The yet to be released movie song list consists of ‘Jai Gangajaal’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’, ‘Rocky Handsome’, ‘One Night Stand’, ‘Rustom’, ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’, ‘Tum Bin 2’ and ‘Akira.’ The list just goes on.

However, songs are not the only thing that the lyricist is currently looking forward to. He is also contemplating on judging a reality show.

Muntashir is being offered singing reality shows at the moment and if everything falls into place, he will be seen as a judge on a reality show soon. Confirming this, he said, “I have been getting a lot of reality show offers. And in the next few weeks, you’ll get to see what I do.” He added, “Having scripted and created a plethora of reality shows. I know exactly where the edits are made. Thus, when I take that chair as a judge I will be fitting the role all the more.”

Muntashir has been a writer on various reality shows in the past.

Working on multiple projects at the same time is definitely not easy. Especially, when one is a writer. When asked how he manages it all, Muntashir said, “The word 'fatigue' settles when you’re not enjoying the process. I enjoy the process. Shayar Faiz Ahmed Faiz once said ‘Jab tak mere seene mein nasur behta rahega, mein sher kehta rahunga.’ Similarly, for me it is this way – ‘Jab tak mujhe dard hota rahega, jab tak mujhe aasu aate rahenge, jab tak mere dil ki mitti geli rahegi, jab tak woh kushk na hojayegi, tab tak gane likhe jate rahenge.’ But, if I stop feeling these things 58 songs might be a far off thing for I might even find it hard to locate 58 words to write a song.”
