MUMBAI: 'Kabira' singer Tochi Raina has had to fight back from the grave.
Well, not really. Last month, some pranksters declared on social media that he had died. All this, while he was happily sleeping at home. The news created a frenzy amongst his near and dear ones who started calling him on his phone. Raina, who was sleeping, naturally did not answer the calls, thus fuelling further speculation.
In a recent conversation with Raina, Radioandmusic.com quizzed the singer about the fake news and he said, "I usually keep my cell phone on silent mode. Therefore, I did not realise that people were calling me back-to-back. When I woke up at 4:30 in the morning, which happens to be my usual wake up time, I noticed the missed calls."
But, instead of getting back to every person personally, the 'Pardesi' singer contacted his manager. "Rahul called me around 5 am as he knew that I would be up by then. I asked him about the matter and he explained the same to me," stated the singer.
The next step was to clear the air at the earliest. "I asked him to put a post on my Facebook account to clear the air. I did not want to get back on calls to everyone," averred Raina.
The Facebook status did sort things for the singer.
Raina is expecting 2016 to be a big year for him musically, having already recorded more than 20 to 25 songs.
"I have recorded for a lot of Bollywood songs and they will appear gradually," confirmed the singer.
Apart from singing for both Hindi and Punjabi music industry, Raina also researches on vocal sounds and provides vocal chord therapy.
