MUMBAI: The Stagz, a two member band formed by 'Indian Idol 3' contestants Parleen Gill and Abhishek Kumar are pulling all stops to make its presence felt with an innovative marketing and promotions campaign.
The band that plans to release its first song ‘Who Wants To Party Now’ on 18 May 2016 has begun promoting the same on its YouTube channel – The Stagz Offical. “The first video that we uploaded was of these wackiest cops Bindi and Balwinder who are from Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. They are the biggest fans of The Stagz and they roam around the city to promote them. The role of the cops is being essayed by both of us,” said Gill.
These characters have been created by Gill and Kumar who have also worked on the entire promotional plan around their first song release. However, they are not stopping at this. The duo will also be uploading videos of celebs talking about The Stagz. The first celeb video features Hussain Kuwajerwala who was also the host of Indian Idol 3.
“We are looking at getting many more celebrities to talk about The Stagz and these videos will be uploaded on our Youtube channel,” stated Gill.
Kumar, on the other hand, added, “I personally haven’t seen an artiste campaign like this. When we got together as The Stagz, we wanted to do something crazy. That is why we decided on doing everything from scratch.”
So, though Gill and Kumar are financiers they have created The Stagz with the help of Indian rapper and hip hop singer Hard Kaur. The 'Char Baj Gaye' singer also turns out to be a reason for their confidence in this project. They believe that the band will be a success with the rapper by their side. In fact, Kaur also features in the first song.
“Our first song ‘Who Wants to Party Now’ is ready for release. We shot it in Mumbai. The lyrics of the song have been written by Sonny Ravan and Hard Kaur. It has been programmed by famous duo Tigerstyle and composed by Kaur herself,” revealed Gill.
The song, claims the duo, will be very different from the usual party songs. In fact, Gill believes that though the hook line of this song is easy to remember, one would have to play the song twice to understand it. They have made the lyrics tricky on purpose. However, this will not be the only surprise element in this song. Hard Kaur who is best known for rapping, will be singing here.
The Stagz are looking at making a song every six months. They have already started planning and are all set for their next release.
The ex-Idols reveal that they are getting a lot of support from their Idol friends and Kaur's friend circle.
