'Tune Mere Jaana' hitmaker Gajendra Verma to release romantic single

MUMBAI: Long gone are the days when Indi-pop ruled our television sets. But, the ones born in the 90s are still very attached to the songs created by the Alisha Chinais, Colonial Cousins, Falguni Pathaks, Suneeta Raos, Bombay Vikings and Aryans. In fact, it was this pop-culture that made a few take career decisions. One such person inspired by the 90s is Gajendra Verma.

The singer-composer holds the independent music space very close to his heart. In fact, he continues to make some beautiful independent music, that today only has some takers amongst collegians. Nevertheless, this does not disappoint Verma who saw huge success with his first single 'Tune Mere Jaana Kabhi Nahi Jaana' from his debut album 'Emptiness'.

The singer-composer continues to make love songs and his recent creation is a romantic bella 'Tera Hi Rahu'. The song that releases tonight is a part of Verma's yet to be released album. The album will have five songs that will take one through different phases of love. 'Tera Hi Rahu' is the first song from the album and it features Verma with Miss Universe India 2013 Manasi Moghe. The video for the same was shot in Shimla.

Though the audio version of the song will release tonight, the video will be released on 1 July 2016 on Verma's YouTube channel 'Virtual Planet Music'.

On crooning another romantic track, the singer said, "Romantic songs come to me naturally, but my upcoming album is not all about romance. It will showcase different emotions and one will get to hear a variety of music in it."

Verma, who has also sung some Bollywood tracks like, 'Man Jage Sari Raat' for 'Bittoo Boss', 'Baarish' for 'Yaariyan', 'Kudi Tu Butter' for 'Bajatey Raho' and composed songs for the Rajeev Khandelwal starrer 'Table No.21'; added that though, he is interested in Bollywood projects, independent music is what he likes making the most. "Indie songs by Lucky Ali, Euphoria, KK, Shaan and other Indi-pop artistes were a big thing in my growing up days. Therefore, this is what I like doing the most. Moreover, independent space gives me the freedom to make the songs I want to. In Bollywood there are limitations. One has to work as per the storyline of the movie," averred he.

Verma is currently looking forward to his upcoming song release in Bollywood, but he is more excited about his album launch in August this year.
