MUMBAI: 'Dandiya Queen' Falguni Pathak who is famous for her very popular Indian pop singles 'Chudi Jo Khanki Haath Mein', 'Maine Payal Hai Chhankai', recently announced that she will be performing live for 11 consecutive days during Navratri for the first time in the predominantly Gujarati suburb in Mumbai.
Organised by Shreya Events, it is expected to be the grandest Navratri event of Mumbai, Maharashtra. ‘The Pari Hoon Main’ singer will perform live amongst 20-25 thousand plus audience each day in the festival that will run from 1st to 11th October 2016.
While talking about it, the ‘Maine Payal Hai Chhankai’ singer said, “Being a Gujarati, I have grown up listening Garba at home. I learnt garba folk songs from my mother. When I started performing in navratri, I started as a chorus singer. It's been around 23 years since. This is the time of the year that I anxiously wait for. I prepare myself the entire year for these 11 days of navratri, along with my band ‘Ta-Thaiyaa’.”
Falguni Pathak along with her band is preparing the best of Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, and Sufi songs and compilations that offer great beats for garba and dandiya revellers.
While talking about her upcoming projects she said, “I am working on a single, if everything goes well it will be released during navratri."
Furthermore, the singer also revealed that she prefers keeping her international shows post navratri for she likes celebrating the festival in India. "After Navratri, I will be going to U.S.A for shows,” ended she.
