MUMBAI: Culture Machine’s digital channel ‘Being Indian’ launched a new series titled as ‘The Joke Box’ featuring RJ and actor Aparshakti Khurrana.
Aparshakti, who is Ayushmann Khurrana’s brother, has worked with Big FM as an RJ and presented his comic side at its best in the video. The series will have a satirical take on our society through parodies and songs featuring Aparskakti.
‘The Joke Box’ kick-starts with the first parody titled ‘Radhe Maa’, a musical satire on our obsession with Godmen and Radhe Maa in particular. The song also highlights how they get away with everything including not paying their taxes.
Shot in various settings, the video mocks their followers, their lavish lifestyle and our blind devotion to them. Speaking about the video, Aparshakti Khurrana said, “"It's a very simple story, as we see our friends around visiting all these so-called spiritual gurus and wasting their time, energy and money on them. I am using the term ‘wasting’ because most of these gurus have nothing spiritual about them. Rather their learnings and preaching are nothing more than the moral science lessons from school days. It's a proper business for most of them. Very few people have been able to take this as a subject and explore by writing books and giving speeches etc. Hopefully through this song in a funny good sense shall prevail and people would focus more on their Karma than wasting time, money and energy on such activities."
