Akriti Kakar sings Pakistani film song with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

MUMBAI: Our singers are travelling places, but neighbouring country Pakistan has always been out of bounds. The animosity between the countries has kept Indian musicians away from Pak borders in the past, but the future appears brighter.

Radioandmusic.com had earlier reported about Bollywood playback singer Mohammed Irfan singing a track for Pakistani film 'Sawal 700 Crore Ka' and now we get you yet another name that's made it to Pakistani records. The next person to sing a Pakistani song is Akriti Kakar. The 'Tha Kar Ke' singer recently sang not one but two songs for a Pakistani film titled ' Ishq Positive'.

Kakar sang this song for Walid Hamid Khan an actor-singer from Pakistan. He also happens to have a boy band with his brothers called 'Raga Boys'. His father Hamid Ali Khan Saab too is a well-known Pakistani singer.

The 'Chham Se Vo Aa Jaye' singer had earlier sung ‘Lage Re Nain Tumse’ for Khan's album. That is also when they had met for the first time. "Back then he had told me that he would love to work on more songs with me. Thus, when this film happened he approached me to sing for it," said Kakar.

The singer has sung two songs in the film 'Rab Diya Janay' and 'Noor E Khuda'. The first song is a duet with none other than Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and the second with Walid Hamid Ali Khan who also debuts as an actor with this film.

Rahat Saab even went on to praise Kakkar for her singing skills. "I was performing in Jodhpur early this year when Rahatji called me to tell me that he found my singing really good. He said 'Aapne toh itna acha gaya hai ,main soch raha hun ke main bhi ek baar doobara isse gaa deta hun, itna accha gaya ha aapne'. I laughed it out. He also said that we should do some songs together."

The song was recorded two years ago in India. "Walid was in India when we recorded the song. Otherwise, initially, it was to be recorded over a skype sessions," explained the singer.
