BMP Update: Vishal-Shekhar to replace Amit Trivedi as headlining act on Day 1

MUMBAI: Almost two nights before one of the leading music directors Amit Trivedi took to the stage to headline the first day of Bollywood Music Project, the musician announced that he would not be able to perform at the initiative's first edition. Trivedi announced the news on social media platform Twitter.

If sources are to be believed, one of Trivedi's closed ones recently passed away. However, Bollywood Music Project managed to provide last minute arrangements to the fans, and as it turns out, one of the biggest music duos in the country, Vishal-Shekhar will replace Trivedi on Stage 1 as the headlining act on 30 Sept (Day 1). Confirming the development, one half of the duo, Shekhar Ravjiani said, “Bollywood Music Project contacted us last night. The thing is, Amit has been such a close friend to us, and we are happy to replace him." Ravjiani further added that “a personal tragedy” was the reason behind Trivedi’s decision.

Here's what the duo had to say about BMP:

The other half of the duo, Vishal Dadlani took to his Twitter profile to send earnest message to Trivedi

The new headlining act will perform on Stage 1 at 8 p.m.. The remaining schedule remains unaffected.
