MUMBAI: 'Ram Chahe Leela' fame singer Bhoomi Trivedi recently sang her first song for a Pakistani movie titled 'Janaan', but the singer could not celebrate the same given the brewing tension between the countries.
With the never ending debates and discussion on whether Pak artists should work in India or not, Trivedi chose to stay away from the success of her song 'Shor Sharaba' - her first song for a Pakistani film.
"I sang the song much before the surgical strike took place. But, till the film released, a lot of things had changed. So, I couldn't celebrate," says the singer.
Trivedi adds, "Music for me has its own place, but my concern for my nation is different."
When asked her take on the ban on Pak artists, she explains, "I am not thinking about people from another country. At the moment I am concentrating on the soldiers, our protectors. Many have lost their lives and I am grieving their loss."
Furthermore talking about the entertainment industry and the never ending confusion, Trivedi states, "The entire industry is confused at the moment. 50 per cent is supporting the (Pak) singers. But, I feel they should understand the current situation and not take sides. It's the terrorism that is affecting everyone's lives. So, at the moment one should just take a step back and then start working."
The music of 'Janaan' is composed by Ahmed Ali, Armaan Malik, and Salim-Sulaiman. Armaan and Shreya Ghoshal too have sung for the same. The recording took place in Mumbai.
'Janaan' released on 13 September 2016.
