MUMBAI: Siddharth Basrur, the frontman of progressive metal band Goddess Gagged is all set to add another feather to his cap. Basur has already recorded a track for music director Arjun Janya who is based in Bengaluru.
The song is for an upcoming Kannada movie and Siddharth has sung a film song in Kannada for the first time. Arjun Janya is an Indian singer-composer who made his film debut in the 2006 Kannada film ‘Autograph Please.’ Since then he has composed and scored music for such successful as 'Victory' (2013), 'Varadanayaka' (2012), ‘Kempegowda’ (2011), ‘Sanchari’ (2010) and more.
In addition, Basur has sung for a couple of Bollywood movies earlier. His last track was ‘Parwah Nahin’ from ‘M. S. Dhoni - The Untold Story’, composed by Amaal Mallik and penned by Manoj Muntashir.
Earlier, in an interview with Radioandmusic.com, Amaal also praised Basrur and said: “Parwah Nahin from M.S. Dhoni is sung by Siddharth Basrur, who comes from a rock and metal background, which is far away from Bollywood. Blending metal or rock music in Bollywood is something unique I believe.”

Basrur started his musical livelihood with his first band, Kinky Ski Munky. Also, before M.S. Dhoni, Basrur has contributed to Bollywood movies like ‘Haunted 3D’ and ‘David.’
He recently performed at Bacardi NH7 Weekender’s Pune edition on 3 December 2016 with his band Goddess Gagged and all in all, they nailed it.
