MUMBAI: Be ready to sway to American jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan's enthralling music as he performs in India at the upcoming 'Jazz Utsav' to be held in the national capital.
Along with Jordan, the event on Sunday is set to witness some captivative experimental music by artistes like Aman Mahajan, Kartikeya Srivastava and Pranai Gurung.
'To Vinicio' -- the new project by Italian drummer Matteo Fraboni will be presented along with Odysseas Tomazou and Gianluca Liberatore who will blend their own compositions with traditional bossa nova music and jazz.
Last but not the least, Smiti and Adhir will feature a range of jazz and blues standards.
With the theme 'Put the classic back into jazz', this edition of the musical event is an attempt to recreate the raw energy and passion of the jazz genre.
'Jazz Utsav' is part of Teamwork Arts' Jazz India Circuit -- an endeavour to spread the word and sound of jazz across the country through various concerts that span the spectrum of the fascinating genre.
'This Jazz Utsav is definitely special because we have the great Stanley Jordan performing at the festival. Apart from him, we have the best of jazz artistes who will recreate the nostalgia and magic of classic jazz," said Sanjoy Roy, Managing Director, Teamwork Arts in a statement.
Organised by Teamwork Arts in association with Capital Jazz, the event will be held at One Golden Mile in the national capital on 19 February.
