What went wrong with Major Lazer India tour?

MUMBAI: One of dance music's biggest names Major Lazer, who was supposed to return to India to headline Mad Decent Block Party in March 2017, has been cancelled.

Mad Decent Block Party was slated to take place in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Delhi on 3rd, 4th, and 5th March 2017 respectively featuring Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, Nucleya and more.

According to our source, the reasons behind cancelling the Mad Decent Block Party, India are somewhat different than what’s out in the media. Though, the guy behind Oji is probably the most connected Indian in the international electronic bass music circuit. Our source states that Oji was not getting enough sponsors to execute the event. Apart from Budweiser and co-sponsor Channel V India, there were no big names.

In association with Budweiser, co-sponsored by Channel V India, the organisers for the property, Oji made an announcement on Saturday, 18 February across their social media platforms that they are cancelling the Mad Decent Block Party as they will not be able to execute the event as they had envisioned. However, they assured that the fans who had bought tickets would be refunded in full without any hassles.
