MUMBAI: It's been seven years since his last Assamese album was released. Now, Papon is all set to release the new album most probably this year in June. The name of the album will be 'Notun Puhor', that signifies ‘New Light’.

The interesting part is Papon is taking entries for the cover design contest for his upcoming album 'Notun Puhor'. The artwork selected by him will make it onto the front cover of the album!

He said that he is looking out for the cover design for his new Assamese album. Anyone can be a part of the album by designing the cover of the album. Be it digital format or handmade format, the design should be dead on for the theme of the album. The best five designs will be displayed and the best design will come as the album cover. Papon has always worn his love of Assam on his sleeve. He created the anthem for the debut edition of Namami Brahmaputra, billed as the biggest river festival of India. The song was released on 22 March 2017.
