Mumbai: Singer Mujtaba Aziz Naza says ‘Chadhta Sooraj’ sung by him for the film ‘Indu Sarkar’ is close to his heart as the original was sung by his father Aziz Naza.
‘Chadhta Sooraj’ is a remake of the famous Qawaali by the same name.
"This song is very close to my heart as the original one has been sung by my father. I have seen people being extremely moved when I have performed this song in the past, I'm hoping it will be well received in the movie as well," Mujtaba said in a statement.
"It was a great experience working with Anu Malik (composer) and Madhur Bhandarkar (director). We had to ensure that while remaking the song for the new generation, we retained the essence and the spirit of the original Qawaali," he added.
‘Indu Sarkar’, scheduled to release on 28 July, features actors Kirti Kulhari, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.
