MUMBAI: 16-year-old super star Kaveri has written sung and composed the music for her brand new track Again, which was launched on 9 August. Daughter of Suchitra Krishnamoorthi and celebrated filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, this is Kaveri’s third single after smash hits, Did You Know and Half a Heart.
Having a strong passion for music, Kaveri started her singing career at the age of six and recorded her first single at 12. Her debut song Did You Know was a massive hit that gained a lot of love and support from the audiences. When asked about how she came up with three beautiful songs at such a tender age she said, “Sometimes I look at a particular situation and make the songs. When I was 13 I fell in love with a boy but later we broke. I was emotionally shattered. I tried to dramatize all the situations and that’s how the songs came up. All the songs are of similar genre but emotional wise it’s different.”
Kaveri is not just trained in Hindustani classical music but also in western classical vocals, piano and guitar. The gifted artist has captivated the audiences with the video release of her new single Again. The song showcases the complicated journey of an adult and their constantly changing views on love. Kaveri emphasized on the teenage years and how they affect them both emotionally and mentally. The budding singing talent stated that with her ever changing circumstances, song writing has been the only consistent defining factor in her life. She likes to look back at her experiences so that she can explore what she hasn’t.
Kaveri feels that as a teenager one should have freedom that is expressive and creative. Speaking about her musical voyage Kaveri shared, “I feel extremely fortunate to be able to sing and pursue what I've aspired in my whole life. I am grateful to my parents for everything- for encouraging me to be totally fearless and do what I really wanted to do, especially my mother who has been my inspiration throughout. I look forward to growing as an artist and learn more about music. I look forward to continue writing and doing what I love for as long as I can.”
The young singer who is also currently pursuing her studies has managed to balance between her academic priorities and passion for music. She added, “Over the years I have learned to prioritize between studies and music. I have made it clear that what I have to do and when I have to do what. Also, I can discern between what is good or bad for me. So it actually helps me a lot in simplifying things.”
Again was launched this month and is already available to stream on Saavn and Google Music.
