MUMBAI: The superhit American reality showLip Sync Battle, which is a VH1 show has come to India. Leading entertainment channel Star Plus is coming up with the same concept on its showLip Sing Battle produced by FreemantleMedia India. Ace Bollywood director- choreographer Farah Khan and famous TV artiste Ali Asgar will be hosting the show.

The initial concept of the TV show was from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which was adopted by VH1 as a different show altogether.

Speaking on the concept of the show, Farah said, “The unique and fun filled concept, basically attracted me: the idea of having two or more celebs competing with each other on Bollywood numbers is very amusing. We all are fans of the Hindi songs and so are the stars, I want to bring out the craziness of the stars.”

On co host Ali the Happy New Yeardirector said, “ I enjoy being with Ali, i have known him since a long time and it is always fun to be with him.”

Celebrities from different genres such as music , Bollywood, television, and sports will be seen on the show. Guests including Karan Johar, Arjun Kapoor, Preity Zinta, Farhan Akhtar, Parineeti Chopra, Nakuul Mehta and many such known faces have already participated in the show.Singers like Shaan and Vishal Dadlani will also be making an appearance in one of the episodes. The two competing with each other will have a face off where they have to dress up and perform like the disco king Bappi Lahiri. In the same episode, the Lahiri himself will appear on the stage as a surprise for the two singers.

Lip Sing Battlewill have two main rounds i. e the Lip syncing round and the Performance round. In the first round, the guests will compete with each other by singing appropriate lyrics of a given song. In the next round the participants will be asked to perform on an iconic song where they have to enact on-screen celebrity's style and dance.

Ali has a special and an old connection with Star Plus. He was a part of the superhit show Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii;in which he had played the popular character of Kamal Agarwal.

Filled with excitement and full of enthusiasm, Asgar said, “I have been shooting for the show over the past few days and let me tell you it has been a blast! You have Bollywood superstars coming on sets and doing whacky stuff that you haven't seen them doing before anywhere else and in between all the madness and masti, I too add a dash of humor with my gags .I will be seen in several avatars, sporting various get ups and mimicking various well- known celebrities. There is a great amount of learning on the sets, and I am a big fan of Farah Khan and I love her creative instinct and spontaneity.”
