MUMBAI: Radio Nasha’s RJ Anmol, best known for his exclusive interviews with the Bollywood stars recently interviewed the legendary singer who has given 75 years to our industry. Yes, you guessed it right, the singer is none other than Lata Mangeshkar, commonly known as Lata Tai.
On the special occasion of Lata Tai’s birthday, Anmol interviewed the Lag Ja Gale singer, to know about her feelings, musical journey, memories and lots more.
RJ Anmol shared some highlights of the interview with Radioandmusic.
It's been 75 years since Tai’s father passed away but there is this wise advice that he gave her once and she still holds it close. Sharing her beautiful memory with RJ Anmol, Mangeshkar said, “My father said, ‘No matter how big an artiste sitting in the audience is – including him – think of yourself as a bigger artiste and that will bring confidence in your performance.”
Tai has been performing on stage for 79 years now. She was nine when she first gave her stage performance and fear hasn’t managed to make friends with her yet. The advice did come handy.
Another positive sentence by Tai that grabbed Anmol’s attention is, “I’ve turned 88 but I feel 13.”
There were many magical moments in this interview, but what has stayed with Anmol, something that he will also cherish for life is this: “During the interview, she took my name and I would want to preserve that moment for life.”
Tune into Radio Nasha Mumbai and Delhi at 8 pm and Fever FM Hyderabad at 9 pm for the entire interview tonight (28 September 2017).
