I don't see myself as a third person, I am part of this country: Teri Miko

MUMBAI: Ukraine based Teri Miko is unquestionably dance music's most prominent DJ and is quickly becoming a well known electronic producer. Teri’s influence is spreading like wildfire across the bass music scene, and it won’t be long before she becomes a household name.

Speaking about her interest for bass the artist said, “I started off long back in Ukraine as a hip-hop DJ playing at parties. But as you know there’s always an evolution. There’s evolution in music and we keep moving. So this evolution meant a lot to me as I had to make hip-hip kind of music something which is on trend right now.”

Teri is known for her high energetic DJ sets and onstage performance with hard-hitting Trap beats infused with Electronic Sounds which makes her performance a testament to her passion. She finds DJing in India an amazing way of connecting with people. She said, “A lot of people perform and go but I have my home in India. I don’t see myself as a third person and I am a part of this country now.”

Looking at the Indian music arena she feels India is doing great in DJ space. She said, “I think Bollywood has created such hype in this country. People like to dance, party and that’s how DJing is taking over.”

Teri Miko recently came with her latest banger and that too on popular Dutch record label Spinnin' Records. She released her first single Wrath Of God under this label. Collaboration with Spinnin’ Records happened when Teri played Dyro last December. “It’s a unique project for me as it is not only a collaboration of three artistes but also has also united three countries India, U.S. and South Korea in this. The cultures of all these countries are so rich and I have tried uniting them.”

The song progresses at a mellower rhythm. With a hip-hop infused vibe and some low-key dark notes in the background, this is Teri’s unique project which is reaching new milestones with every release, and this one isn’t going to be any different. Wrath Of God features Varien and Flowsik.

Her previous hits, KOLAVO on Spinnin' Records has already received support from Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Tom Swoon, Stadium X, Tony Cha Cha, Will Sparks, The Zombie Kids and the track has been added to Spinnin' Miami Night Mix 2017 compilation. Fukuyo on Dyro's label i.e. Wolv Records last December, was supported by Martin Garrix. These tracks are getting huge support on all social mediums and from the live audience.

Currently, Teri is doing a nationwide tour in India for her track. Soon she will be performing at the second day of Sunburn Daman Weekend. She said, “I am over excited about the show as I am performing after a long time in Gujarat. The interesting thing is I have already started getting messages from the fans.”
