Local singers from J and K enthrall connoisseurs at cultural evening in Jammu

NEW DELHI: Singers Manju Bala, Gursharan Kour, Satveer Jamwal, Anil Raina, Karanveer Malhotra and Sham Sajan enthralled the audiences with their musical performances at the ‘MAJLIS-6’ organized by Indian Cultural Forum in Jammu recently.

The programme was organized under the patronage of eminent Urdu poet Pritpal Singh ‘Betab’. The programme was presided over by Rashtra Bhasha Prasar Samiti President Bharat Bhushan Sharma. Pandit Vidya Rattan ‘Aasi’, an eminent Urdu poet of the state was the Chief Guest and Prof. Raj Kumar was the guest of honour.

Forum founder President Sham Sajan emphasized that such programmes should be organized continuously and urged Galaxian Members of Indian Cultural Forum to dedicate their time and talent for the cause undertaken by the Forum.

Prominent Urdu Poet and Secretary General of the forum Deepak Aarsi anchored the programme and eminent anchor and theatre personality Ravinder Kaul spoke on the occasion.

The poets who presented their poetry in the programme included Pritpal Singh ‘Betab’, Vidya Rattan ‘Aasi’, Raaz Manawari, Deepak Aarsi, Susheel Begana, Usha Kiran Kiran, Vijaya Thakur, Davinder Singh Vishwanagrik, K.K Shakir, Prof. Raj Kumar, Promila Manhas, Ashok Amber, Sudhir Mahajan, Baljit Raina, Surinder Neer, Suraj Rattan Bakshi,  Suman Pal, Ashok Dutta, Jagdish Sagar, Tilak Raj Gupta, Deepak Chatta, Amarjeet Kour Neer, Amar Jeet Singh and Irfan Arif.

Dr Sharma highlighted the importance and need for such programmes for the uplift of socio-cultural values of society.
