MUMBAI: Sachin-Jigar are one of the most famous Bollywood music composers today and if anyone dared to harm them it would make the headlines, but this wasn't the case in their initial days. The Babaji Ki Booti composers were literally kidnapped to compose and there was no one to help
The duo recently unveiled an old horror tale to radio host Siddharth Kannan in an interview. When asked where the two have been for four years, Jigar without hesitation started sharing an incidence occurred in those years. He said, "Somebody approached us to compose songs for a movie and the deal was around Rs 2,000 for one song and we had to compose 12 songs. We thought that it would be good enough money for a computer, so we decided to work on the project.”
But, what happened later was beyond anyone's imagination. “The first day we met their team, spoke a bit about work and then they asked us to shift to their studio upstairs to start working. The place was simply a dark area, nothing like a studio. At the end of the day, we made our way to the exit only to return the next day, but their team held us captive and forced us to complete the compositions."
The Sorry Sorry Sorry composers spent four days in that dark room without any mode of communication. They did lodge a police complaint soon after, but nothing was done.
The worst part of this story was them not getting paid at the end of all that torture. And, their 5,000 rupees advance cheque bouncing back.
The incidence turned out to be a great lesson for life
