MUMBAI: The beautiful Kashmir valleys have been a part of conflict since, partition. The India-Pak tension has never left this beautiful place to breathe a sigh of relief, but there are more issues cropping up. Singer Shaan will be throwing some light on the neglected concerns of Kashmir through his latest song.

“When we think of Kashmir, we only think of India-Pakistan issues and similar burning issue. But Kashmir and the parts around have the highest amount of glaciers happening in the country due to climate changes and in places like Leh Ladakh and Siachen Park,” pointed out the Chand Sifarish singer.

“I recently visited Kashmir and observed many things. People there talk about how these changes in nature and climate crisis are happening. So, I thought it would be relevant to talk about the climate crisis of Kashmir,” the singer added.

Well, the ‘24 Hours Of Reality’ team got in touch with the singer one day via email to request him to create a song for India. For the campaign, they wanted an artiste from India with certain caliber and consciousness, Shaan was the best choice.

“There are many songs that I have done in the past that talk about climate change – one of it is called Shuruvat which was a part of one of my albums. It says Yahi Aant Ki Shuruvaat Hai probably the only song written on climatic change,” said the singer.

Shaan decided to create a new song for the campaign. He also observed that the songs on a social cause do not attract the audience much as the love songs. This is when the idea for a love song came into the picture.

Interestingly, the song was shot in Srinagar within two hours. The lyrics for the same were penned by Kunwar Juneja who has also written lyrics for Shaan’s latest single Surilee. Sung and composed by Shaan, he also features in the song.

“Jaaniye is a love song for Kashmir. It says Jaaniye Tute Nay Yeh Dhage Pyaar Ke. It talks about how beautiful Kashmir is and how Kashmir is important for my life and I would want Kashmir to realise this for me. I always wanted to do a song for Kashmir and talking about climate changes,” ended Shaan.
