MUMBAI: Singer Yashita Sharma, the girl known for some of the biggest Bollywood songs is back with her new song Sayaani. The track is a part of upcoming Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, Sonam Kapoor starrer Pad Man. Yashita has lent her voice to this song.

“I got a random call from the studios; they told me that I have to go for song recording along with some aunties. So, I took my mom, my friend’s mom, and one more aunty and went to the studio. When I entered the studio there was a majority of women sitting in the studio, and only two men Amit Trivedi and R. Balki. Then we all went and recorded the song breaking the stereotypical myth that women can’t get along together,” said Yashita while talking about her recording experience of the Sayaani song.

Speaking of the song, she said, “This is a situational song, which depicts a situation in the movie, in fact, this is a song on a situation that happens in the country.”

The song Sayaani and also all the other songs of the movie Pad Man are composed by the Kai Po Che! composer Amit Trivedi. Sharma shares a great equation with the composer and has worked with him in the YRF movie Qaidi Band.

Talking about her bond with the Udta Punjab composer, Yashita says, “I have always been a fangirl of Amit Trivedi, and working with him was a very big thing. He is a very patient person, a very good listener and a very calm and compost person, he is also very good at handling situations and stress. In fact, I also share a very friendly bond with him and go to him for advice.”

Pad Man has Khiladi, Akshay Kumar playing the male lead, Yashita has also been a fan of him since her childhood, “He is a very honest star and I like his smile (laughs). Kudos to him for making a movie on such a serious issue,” said the Akki fan.
