Vh1 to launch mobile game on The Flavor of Love

MUMBAI: VH1, a division of Viacom's MTV Networks, is launching a new mobile game that extends the on-air series Flavor of Love. Launching at the end of April, The Flavor of Love mobile game will join VH1 Mobile's growing list of mobile games including the pop culture trivia game Know it All and Best Week Ever, a downloadable trivia game based on the VH1 series.

Big FM appoints Rohit Dhar as regional director, East

MUMBAI: Big FM has appointed Rohit Dhar as the regional director - East. He will be reporting directly to Big FM regional head East and South Soumen Choudhary. Prior to this, Dhar was the cluster head of Uttar Pradesh and station head of Lucknow for Radio Mirchi. In his new position, Dhar will be working towards developing on-air properties for brands and providing marketing solutions to clients. His span of work would encompass overall functioning of the stations in the East.

Mohit Anand to join Channel [V] as head

Mumbai: Star India has appointed Mohit Anand, former Microsoft India (Entertainment and Devices Division) country manager, as general manager for Channel [V]. Anand will take charge of Channel [V] from 21 April. He replaces Amar K Deb who recently quit the channel to float his own content-selling portal. Speaking to Indiantelevision.com, Anand said: "I have quit Microsoft and am joining Channel [V] from 21 April. I have experience in entertainment. Being a part of Xbox 360, our target audience was youth."

Shibani Kashyap composes for 'Sirf'

MUMBAI: After giving rocking hits in Rohit Shetty's Sunday and Zinda, Shibani Kashyap has now created music for the Manisha Koirala-Kay Kay Menon starrer 'Sirf'. Shibani has sung and composed the title track of the film, music of which is now out on Sony BMG. Sirf is a Seven Eagle production movie directed by Rajaatesh Nayar and also stars Ranveer Shorey, Sonali Kulkarni, Parveen Dabbas, Rituparna Sengupta and Nauheed Cyrusi. Recently, Kashyap had created a romantic song for Sanjay Gupta's first English film, The Great Indian Butterfly.

Big appoints Manoj George as natl sales director

Mumbai: Manoj George has come on board Big FM as National Sales Director. The ADAG led FM venture has promoted Bipin Grewal as Regional Head-West, while Arjun Rao will be the Regional Head-South and Aasheesh Dhamija will be the Regional Director-North. Just last week, Big FM promoted Arjun Singgh Baran to the post of regional director for Operations-West, while Sudarshan Saha has stepped in as the new station head, Mumbai. P B Ramaswamy, who was the station manager, Chennai will now be the cluster head for Tamil Nadu.

Eros acquires music rights of Shravan's film

Mumbai: Shravan Rathod, part of the Nadeem-Shravan duo, has sold the music rights of his debut production Kash Mere Hote to Eros International. The film stars newcomer Kumar Sahil and Sneha Ullal. Music for the film has been composed by Shravan and will be released some time in April. Says the music director turned producer, "It is an one film deal with Eros as of now. But going ahead, we do intend to work together."

Rahman to compose score for Ghajini game

Mumbai: FX Labs will be designing a computer and console game for Aamir Khan's forthcoming film which is a remake of Ghajini. Ace musician Allah Rakha Rahman will be giving the background score for the same. Confirms FX Labs co founder Sashi Reddy, "Yes, Rahman will be composing the music. However, he is the composer for the film, it is too early to talk about the game's music." The game will be launched a month before the film releases, that is this year end.FX labs is also developing a game on Dhoom 2 titled D 2.5 which will hit the stores in April.

Sangeet Bangla climbs to third position among GECs

Mumbai: Sangeet Bangla, the Bengali music channel from Media Worldwide, has climbed up to the third position among Bangla GECs, according to the TAM data for week 12. The company, that also runs Hindi music channel Music India, claims to be number one Bangla music channel since the past three years. According to TAM figures, Sangeet Bangla notched up a channel share of 2.09 per cent among the target audience of 15 to 24. The channel offers Bangla music, ranging from the classic to the modern.
