Based on the Nanakshahi calendar, the vibrant festival of Baisakhi is celebrated on 14 April, every year, with a great pomp. The day also marks the founding day of Khalsa Pant at at Anandpur Sahib by Guru Gobind Singhji in 1699.

Meanwhile, today also marks the Tamil New Year and Malayalam New Year, Vishu. With so many festivals today seems like the whole of India has immersed in the festive fervour.
