MUMBAI: Indian music legends Zakir Hussain and Shankar Mahadevan recently performed under one roof at the recently held CrossCurrents show in Los Angeles. They are members of this international group that is led by Jazz Master bassist Dave Holland and Zakir himself.

The Dilbaro singer has been posting on and offstage details about CrossCurrents since his landing in the US. The show also coincides with today’s International Jazz Day.

Currently touring the US, the group is putting forth a fabulous cross-cultural performance that comprise of Western jazz standards, Indian classical extravaganza and 12-bar blues numbers apart from their original compositions.
The group has unique line-up of artists that comprises of Chris Potter, the most compelling saxophonist of his generation, Indian musicians like guitarist Sanjay Divecha, pianist Louiz Banks and drummer Gino Banks apart from Zakir Hussain, Shankar Mahadevan and Dave Holland.
CrossCurrents next concerts are locked for 1-3 May 2018 respectively and will be held at Chicago Symphony Center (Chicago), McCarter Theatre Centre (Princeton) and Berklee Performance Centre (Boston).
