MUMBAI: After the release of Tere Chumme Mein Chavanprash, the song has become the talk of the town. A quirky video featuring real-life cousins Arjun Kapoor and the lead actor of the film Bhavesh Joshi-Superhero, Harshvardhan Kapoor is out on Eros Now.

The song is composed by Amit Trivedi and sung by Divya Kumar. The singer says, “I guess till now a smaller version is released but the second stanza is equally amazing and funny.”

Divya undoubtedly had a lot of fun while recording this song, as he shares “When Amit (Trivedi) came to me he said the song is quite like Allah Meherban in Ghanchakkar. But, as we started recording the song turned out to be really quirky and whacky. I have worked on a lot with Amit Trivedi and it’s always a pleasure working with him.”

Divya Kumar also duly acknowledges the lyricist’s contribution, “Amitabh Bhattacharya contribution is very big. It’s amazing how he can think of such lyrics. Also, his repertoire as a lyricist is so vast. We three had lot of fun while making this song and I would end laughing while recording with such funny lyrics. I remember a lot of words were incorporated the last minute.”

The singer didn’t know who the song was to be pictured, “It was only after the promotions started did I know that it was for Arjun Kapoor.”

Incidentally, Arjun recently publicized on social media, that he completed six years in the showbiz and the singer has a happy coincidence to share, “This is my second song for Arjun, first one was for his first film Ishaqzaade six years ago.”

Speaking about the “male item numbers”, Divya Kumar says, “It’s a good trend. There is no written rule that only women can do item numbers.”

While the Chavanprash song is a clean song albeit has unusual lyrics, there are many songs that come with offensive or insensitive lyrics. Many singers refuse to sing such songs. Divya Kumar has a definite opinion about it. “I have turned down two such offers. However, if I read the script and understand the song and lyrics aren’t out of context, I see no problem in singing that. But if the song has abusive or offensive lyrics just to show or gain publicity, then I would deny singing.”

About his other work, Divya Kumar seems to have sung some amazing songs this year. While he has sung one song in Veer Di Wedding, he has some other interesting songs too, “Two songs for Parmanu have released and I am very excited. Both of them are patriotic. I am very thrilled, as this is my first patriotic song. I guess it would be one of Sachin-Jigar’s best works. I am also working on my singles, but I would talk about it later.”
