MUMBAI: Bored of the #usuals, need a little energy into your system? Well, then you are reading the right article. Alien Chutney, India's premiere comedy-rock band would just give you all those vibes you need. This band stands out and has clutched hoards of attention with their music, energy, and lyrics on-stage. The brainchild of comedian Vir Das, Alien Chutney is a mix of sophisticated original music with insane yet relatable lyrics. The band has a lot to share about their new releases and performances.
The band’s new release Paan is a social message. On this, they elaborate, “Pan spitting is the national sport of our country, while it’s a very cool funky track and has that pretty chilled RnB vibe coming to it. It’s a slightly different track from the usual tracks we create. We are still working on it and bringing it in shape.”
Their latest song No Means No which released in February 2018, went viral and gained huge popularity due to the social message that was packaged with some fun. Now they would be releasing their new song which is I Don’t Mean To Be Bitter, But Your Twitter Makes Me Shitter. “The song is reflective of what Twitter is right now. It’s become quite a hate world now,” said Alien Chutney.
After performing in Mumbai in 2016, they will now be performing in the city after almost two years at Awestrung High Street Phoenix. To this band member, Kaizad Gherda adds, “We have a lot of new songs for our audience and we’re quite excited about performing them at Awestrung. One of our tracks would be Paan, our next topic would be on ‘joggers park’ and the kind of people we witness there. From aunty’s to the uncles to the dog walkers, the fitness freaks, our song would have a take on this.”
The band believes that they are more of performers and the best way to listen to their music is witnessing their live shows. Credit goes to these creative minds Vir Das, Sidd Coutto, Johan Pais, Kaizad Gherda and Apurv Isaac. If you truly want to laugh your gut out, Alien Chutney is the best hearken.
