5 Bollywood songs to tune into the FIFA World Cup fervour

MUMBAI: Though India has a good football team, it is not a part of FIFA. But this hasn’t dampened the spirit of Indians and the frenzy is beyond words. While, India is dominated by cricket, which has time and again reflected in our movies, football too has made its way into our movie songs. So, amid the FIFA World Cup 2018 craze, let’s have look at five songs that depict their respective leads scoring some match-winning goals.

Parody Song - Mr India:

This iconic medley in Mr India is best remembered for amazing performances by the entire star-cast including child artists. The story in the song has the backdrop of children playing football and disturbing Sridevi's character. The whole song is a battle of getting the ball back from Sridevi, who has confiscated the same. The song composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal has befitting lyrics by Javed Akhtar but set to some legendary songs in the past. Kukkad - Student of the Year:

Student Of The Year showcases a life of a student that is enviable. A part of the school curriculum is sports. The school has a boys Football team, of which, evidently, both the lead actors are prime players. A large portion of this song that shows the lead actors Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra is on the football field.

Ahista Ahista - Bachna Ae Haseeno:

It is a dreamy song with Minissha Lamba and Ranbir Kapoor shot somewhere in the Alps is easy on ears. Ranbir is shown playing football and well, scoring goals.

Sukoon - Mary Kom:

A biopic based on India’s woman boxer and Olympic medallist Mary Kom features a romantic number Sukoon Mila. This song is a musical narrative of Mary Kom and her Footballer husband’s life. Through the song, Priyanka who essays the role of Mary Kom is seen cheering her husband played by Darshan Kumar when he is scoring goals for domestic level matches.

Halla Bol - Dhana Dhan Goal:

Halla Bol is almost the anthem of the movie, starring John Abraham, Bipasha Basu and Arshad Warsi. A team with Asian ethnicity sets to win a tournament in a racist environment, Halla Bol, a movie about football has to have a motivational song, shows the training part, tournament, and the winning spree that the team sees.
