Alka Yagnik's vocals retained for 'Dilbar' remake

MUMBAI: A new T-Series release Dilbar, featuring John Abraham and Norah Fatehi from the upcoming movie, Satyameva Jayate happens to be a recreation of the song with a similar title from the 1999 movie Sirf Tum.

Sung by Mile Ho Tum fame Neha Kakkar and Dhvani Bhanushali, the music has been given by Tanishk Bagchi. The song also retains Alka Yagnik’s voice from the original composition. The lyrics are written by Shabbir Ahmed.

Dhvani who’s given her voice to the new lyrics of the song says, “It is such a great opportunity to sing for the recreated version of such an iconic song. While working on this song I got a chance to work with great music artists like Tanishk and Neha. I really hope people like Dilbar and shower their love as they did for the original composition. Nora Fatehi is stunning in the video and the video is looking incredible. After Ishtehaar which was a sad song, I am glad I got a chance to sing a completely different tune.”

The modern version of the song has an Arabic theme and has new twists and turns. Nora Fatehi, who slays with her belly dance moves in the song, had rehearsed only for ten days before the shoot.

Satyameva Jayate has been produced by Nikkhil Advani and Bhushan Kumar.

On the song, Bhushan Kumar said, “I still remember when the song released back then it was an instant hit. Since a really long time, I wanted to recreate this song with modern notes. The song appears in an important sequence of the film and the Arabic theme looks splendid.”

To this, Nikkhil adds, “Nora Fatehi’s belly dance on this iconic track is, in my opinion, going to be genre defining. The brief to choreographer Adil Sheikh was to create a clutter breaker. I think he has just surpassed all my expectations. Dilbar is going to be one more reason to watch Satyameva Jayate on 15 August."

The trailer of Satyameva Jayate had received a very positive reaction. Now, the iconic Dilbar song, which was originally picturized on Sushmita Sen and Sanjay Kapoor in Sirf Tum, has started striking chord with the audience since it dropped online. The original song was an instant hit back then.
