MUMBAI: Indian musicians have transcended the international borders effortlessly and amassed an incredible fan base abroad. Two of the most sought-after music directors of India are set to tour North America both during August-September 2018.
Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy along with actor-director Farhan Akhtar are set to perform in North America and Canada. These incredible musicians plan to perform on some of their most loved songs from Rock On, Dil Dhadkane Do, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, among others.
While A R Rahman and his troupe would be touring majorly The United States of America during the same time. Oakland, Atlanta, New York, Dallas, Seattle, Washington DC, Los Angeles are some of the cities that are announced on the maestro’s social media handle. AR Rahman’s concerts are to have performances by superstar singers like Udit Narayan, Neeti Mohan, Jonita Gandhi, percussion legend Ranjit Barot.
Ahead of the tour Neeti Mohan, a part of maestro's troupe for around a decade shared her excitement, "I am honoured to be a part of this tour. This year, the shows are going to be larger than life, in terms of production and presentation. Some terrific singers are a part of this tour like Udit ji. Therefore, songs from 90s and some memorable duets too would be presented."
Jonita Gandhi who has been a permanent member of the Rahman team said, "I have very fond memories of being part of Rahman sir’s North American Intimate Tour Concert a few years ago, and I learned so much during that tour. I’m looking forward to all the great memories we are about to create on stage, and how much more I’m yet to learn from this tour as well! This time it’s going to be bigger, with more artists, more musicians and more production. I think it’s going to be a treat."
On her performance the singer stated, "I don’t think I’m allowed to give away the set list, but I can say that I’ll be singing a mix of old and new, and songs of different languages. I’m excited to be singing some of the most beautiful songs that I grew up listening to."
Since A R Rahman' s work is not limited to just Hindi, his compositions in Tamil, Telugu will also be presented.
