Directed Subodh Ukey, the movie features Subodh, Ketan Bansod, Gayatri Dhole, Laxmi Borkar and Sayyoni Mishra and two child actors.
The movie marks the Marathi debut of singer-songwriter Mohit Manuja as a music composer, while Suresh Iyer and Anuja Ghadge have sung songs for the film.
Speaking about the music of the film, Mohit said, “Subodh had narrated the script to me, which I found very emotional and powerful. Moreover, he also gave me an opportunity to compose the music without any limitations or frameworks. I was very excited to compose songs based on friendship and compassion.”
To this, Subodh Ukey added, “Every person has their life filled with some memories, which always stay with us in every situation. Even though we live along with these special memories, we can only feel the emotion. We cannot bring it to reality once again. This is what we have tried to present in the movie.”
Produced by Rolling Pebble Productions, the story of Aathavanichi Sawali revolves around a little boy called Bablu, who loses his school friend at a very early age. Years later, he opens up about the incident to a newly found friend. The film, thus, showcases the beautiful bond of friendship between a teenager and a flower.
The movie is slated to release at film festivals lined up in 2018 and 2019. After film festivals, the makers will later release the film pan-India on digital platforms.
