MUMBAI: Well-known singer Rahul Deshpande in association with Times Music has released the singer’s brand-new single, Paus Vajto Daari.

Not only has Rahul sung the song but has also featured in its music video. “This is my first ever music video and I am very excited about the same, making this experience very special for me," shared the singer.

The song is written by lyricist Vaibhav Joshi and composed by Amod Kulkarni. “I have done a Ghazal album with Vaibhav and known him for a long time. Therefore, we have a certain understanding. Also, when Vaibhav approached me with the lyrics, I loved the poem instantly. During the same time, Amod was opening his recording studio and this is the first song we recorded there. All this makes the song extremely special.”

Grandson of the legendary Pandit Vasantrao Deshpande, Rahul is one of the most sought-after classical vocalists and is known for his experimentation in various streams of music. Paus Vajto Daari, literally translating, Monsoons knocking on doors, shows the singer strolling through lush green landscapes with rain in the background. The composition has tinges of Malhar and the classical raga synonymous with Monsoon.

Beyond all this, what makes the song and video even more special is Ustad Taufiq Qureshi being a part of it. “I have done a couple of live shows with Taufiqji. However, for this song, I didn’t know until I recorded that he would also be a part of this. I am extremely glad that he is a part of my first music video too.”
