MUMBAI: Akh Lad Jaave fame singer Asees Kaur, who is known for her songs like Tere Bin, Chogada and many others, spoke on how her 2018 musical journey while also sharing her 2019 plans too.
“2018 was the best year of my life so far in many aspects especially in my career. I have done so well with five back to back many releases, especially in the year-end. I had Akh Lad Jaave, Chogada, Loveyatri. So, 2018 has been an amazing year,” said Asees Kaur.
Asees Kaur has had massive collaborations this year like Arijit Singh, Badshah, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and others. On being asked about her experience of working with them, the singer says, “These associations have been amazing. My biggest collaboration was with Badshah and it’s a Tanishk Bagchi song, so I was quite content about it. It happened with Akh Lad Jaave. I am really happy and thankful to Azeem Dayaniji for getting me on board for Akh Lad Jaave, the reason I got to sing with Badshah.”
She further continues, “Akh Lad Jaave was my first party number and opened new space for me in the industry, so that is very special. Chogada is also very special to me and Darshan Raval, for a fact, is a heartthrob right now. Chogada also has been doing very well. I also sang Tere Bin from the film, Siimba with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, which was a great achievement for me. He is a legendary singer and singing with him is a dream come true for every singer.”
Kaur has given back-to-back hits. When asked, what has kept you motivated her, she exclaimes, “My only motivation is - I want to come up with songs that touch people’s hearts. I sing every song keeping in mind that how would people react on hearing the song (Mera yahi kehna hai thatunhe acha lagna chahiye). If it is a party song, they should dance, if a romantic song, they should fall in love and if it is a breakup song, then they should feel the pain.”
On her 2019 plans, she says, “2019 is really exciting; I am coming up with my singles this year and also other projects. It is going to be a great year.”
Well every singer has someone whom they look upon or who has been their idol. On this, Kaur says, “My idol has always been Noor Jehanji, Unke gaane sun sun ke hi mein badi ho gayi. Also, I love Arijit Singh and there is no doubt about it. Getting an opportunity to sing two songs with him, in such a short span of time, is a big thing and that too when I was one and a half year old in the industry.”
Lastly, she shares a message to her fans, “Thank you for all the love they have showered on my songs. Keep supporting me and always be happy and lead a happy life.”
