MUMBAI: One of the most common skill in actors these days is singing, something that actors lacked back in the days. We just had Kishore Kumar then, but today we have over a dozen actors who can sing. The list includes Alia Bhatt, Diljit Dosanjh, Farhan Akhtar, Parineeti Chopra, Ayushmann Khurrana amongst others. The latest name to join this list is Tara Sutaria.
The pretty lass is making her Bollywood entry with Dharma Productions campus romance Student of the Year-2. While her acting prowess will be tested after the release, Tara is a trained ballet dancer as well as a singer. Thus, she will soon be making her singing debut and this is not surprising.
Tara is said to be making her singing debut in Sajid Nadiadwala’s next co-starring Ahaan Shetty, son of Sunil Shetty. The movie is supposed to be a remake of Telugu movie RX100 and is to be directed by Milan Lutharia. The talk is that the idea of Tara singing came to the makers of the movie after they heard Tara croon the iconic Lag Ja Gale at the trailer launch of SOTY2 recently. The song being planned is romantic and is to be pictured on her and debutante male lead.
Today, at the launch of the first song from SOTY2, Tara almost confirmed the news, “I wanted to sing for SOTY2, which Karan (Karan Johar, Producer of SOTY 2) is aware of. I would have loved to but I have not sung a song in this movie. However, I do look forward to sing for my next film.”
About the song, which was launched today, a remix of classic hit Jawani Diwani, Tara was ecstatic to have had the opportunity to dance on this, “I am a trained singer and biggest fan of Kishore Kumar. I remember as a child singing and dancing to this song as my parents would play such classics at home.”
