MUMBAI: Zee TV’s dhamakedaar music reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs 2019 came to a stellar end with contestant Sugandha Date bagging this season’s trophy.
Speaking on the win, Sugandha exclaimed, “This journey was good and will stay as an important part of my life. I was glad to see fans supporting me, which gave me immense confidence and courage to face ups and downs that came my way.”
The young singer credits this success to her guru, Anand Sharma, “After my mom, he is the most important person. I am really happy that I won and have made him proud.”
While chatting with us, she recollects what her guru had advised, “In this journey, my guru has been the backbone. Anand sir used to always say ‘Sugandha chartbusters ke liye mat ga, sing for yourself and give your best.’”
Well it was not just her guru that led to her success, but her mom also played a big role. She reveals, “. It was basically my mom, who decided to give a try on this reality show and here I am. My mom has done MA in music so it runs in the family. I started singing since I was six years old and I have been learning classical singing from Anand sir since then.”
Judges Amaal Mallik, Richa Sharma, and Shaan motivated the finalists on the show by helping them with pieces of advice. Sugandha shares, “Shaan sir had commented ‘Sugandha is a good student. She implements whatever her sir says in her performance.’”
In an interesting chat about her future goals Sugandha reveals, “I want to be a playback singer only and want to make my guru proud.”
We at Radioandmusic congratulate Sugandha Date on her spectacular win. We hope she succeeds in fulfilling in her dreams.
