Case against RGV by T-Series stayed till July

ALLAHABAD/MUMBAI: The criminal case against filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma by music major T-Series in Noida is stayed on Thrusday by the Allahabad High Court till 1 July. The stay had come on an application by the filmmaker seeking further stay as the Courts interim stay order for five days just before Holi was expiring.The filmmaker has sought quashing of the First Information Report (FIR) in view of the fact that an FIR filed by him against the music major is pending in Mumbai.

DeGeneres to co-host 'Idol Gives Back' with Seascrest

MUMBAI: US broadcaster Fox has announced that Ellen DeGeneres will once again join Ryan Seacrest as co-host of Idol Gives Back. This is its music-based reality show American Idol's music celebration which looks to raise awareness and funds to benefit various US and international charities. DeGeneres will host from the Kodak Theatre with Seacrest hosting from the American Idol stage in Los Angeles on 9 April. In India, American Idol airs on Star World. Last year, the special got a Governor's Award Emmy for raising $76 million.

Big FM announces staff movements

Mumbai: Big FM has promoted Arjun Singgh Baran to the post of regional director for Operations-West, while Sudarshan Saha has stepped in as the new station head, Mumbai. P B Ramaswamy, who was the station manager, Chennai will now be the cluster head for Tamil Nadu. Baran was the man behind setting up of Big's Mumbai station, and has been instrumental in the launch and functioning of the Mumbai Station thus far.

Music of Kannada film 'Accident' launched

BANGALORE: Vishishta Productions launched the music of its first feature film - a Kannada movie titled Accident, that stars Ramesh Arvind and Pooja Gandhi. The film will be released in Karnataka on 4 April. The production house has tied up with Bangalore based Anand Audio Video for use of its infrastructure in distribution and marketing of the music. The music copyright has been retained with the producers for the present, and depending on the success of the movie, Anand Audio's Mohan Chhabria will take a call about acquiring the music rights.
