Check interview below.

How did the inception/conceptualisation of Beech Raaste begin?

We always like listening to music in the car and Sulaiman and I thought that it would be so cool to make a perfect Drive song and and better still a love song with a really funky beat.
I came up with a phrase - Beech Raaste which means in the middle of the road. We started working on the composition and production and we finished this song in a Day with Armaan & Nikhita singing and blending their voices so beautifully with each other. We started this song with a funk guitar riff but converted that to a vocal riff & gave the entire a song a very funk electro vibe.

How was your experience working on it?

It was truly a joyride, the song took very little time to create , but we spent a lot of time adding finishing touches to the draft. The little details made a big difference.

There is a lot of creativity that's been showcased by the singers in the video using Memoji. Whose idea was it? Which phone did you shoot it on?
Actually it was the director Shakti HASiJa’s idea. He loves using Apple Memoji. He had a story in his mind which had futuristic world with Ady and Ada as two characters on a long drive and this worked out great for Beech Raaste.

What else are you doing in your quarantine period?

Lockdown turned out to be the perfect window for us to start something new. Something that we wanted to do for the longest time which was to start a record label which would be for the artist by the artist. Merchant records has been a dream for us and this period of lockdown give us the opportunity to start Merchant Records. Also over the last few years we’ve composed a few songs which we composed and left behind thinking that we would re-look at them when we had some time. Under MERCHANT records we are doing exactly that. Maangi Duaein was the first release followed by Beech Raaste and we have a release lined up every 2-3 weeks till the end of the year.

Tell its about any upcoming projects

Under merchant records there’s a whole lot of releases that are coming out every two or three weeks. There’s also Bhoomi ohUnder merchant records there’s a whole lot of releases that are coming out every two or three weeks. There’s also Bhoomi 2.0 which is a pet project for us and it’s ready for release. Besides that we are in the final stages of an international film that we have been working on which will probably release this year.
