MUMBAI: The Covid-19 pandemic had called for all shoots and production work to be stalled. But after a hiatus, showbiz is gradually getting back on its feet. A while back, Sobhita Dhulipala shot for a music video for music man Miket Kanakia’s music label, Velvet Vibes. The shoot for the English song took place in Bandra (Mumbai). The music video produced by Mourjo Chatterjee has a very raw , new age and cosmopolitan vibe to it . Singer Rameet Sandhu has lent her vocals for the song.
The team shot for the music video by adhering to all social distancing norms. To keep all possible health risks at bay, the actor and the crew put on face-shields, masks and gloves as a mandatory measure. They made their best attempt to work with a skeleton crew and have upped their hygiene game by providing multiple sanitizing stations and medical facilities on set to constantly monitor body temperature and oxygen levels. Although the guidelines are in flux, the production put together a set of best practices to ensure safety of all stakeholders on field, sparing no expense to ensure they are working in a safe environment.
Ahead of the release of the song the founder of Velvet Vibes, Miket Kanakia says "Velvet Vibes aims at catering to young music lovers of the country. We have come up with an English track which marks our first project, making it a very special song. It has a cool vibe that’s tailored to match the likes of millennial's. And what better way to start, than to feature Sobhita Dhulipala in our video. She does enjoy a wide fan base and her promising performances so far speak for itself.”
Happy to be a part of a music video, Sobhita Dhulipala shares, “I had a great time filming this one-of-a-kind music video with the cast and crew. I’m also quite proud of the concept that’s been executed, the guts involved and the freshness of attitude that unites every young person today. This is an English song, yes, but there has been such an interesting mingling of cultures in the making of it. I cannot wait for everyone to witness the little surprise that’s been packed into the story!”
Singer Rameet Sandhu believes that the track might set a precedent for new-age pop music in the country. “I loved crooning for this fun track. Pop music has always been a hit among listeners in India. I’m confident that this song will resonate with our youngsters. It was a lovely experience recording for Velvet Vibes, looking forward to working with them again . And Sobhita’s presence in the video has made the song look even more amazing,” she says.
Producer Mourjo Chatterjee says, “We had a vision in our minds as to how we want the video to look like. And it has come out so well. It was really special shooting with Sobhita Dhulipala. She has a rare charm and that made her a perfect fit for the video. This is Velvet Vibes’ first project and we were quite nervous. We had to follow some strict rules on set to prevent health risks but we are very happy with the final outcome. Our production team at Handykraft Pictures was outstanding. I cannot wait for people to listen to the song.”
