MUMBAI: Following last year’s relaunch of Afrojack’s tech house alter ego Kapuchon, the famed DJ/producer now continues this journey with a much awaited new single.
Teaming up with fellow Dutch artist Sven Fields, the resulting ‘Ey’ is a sweet excursion of tech infused grooves, warm basslines and moody vocal snippets. It’s another exciting look into the artist’s ongoing development as a producer, released on the specially created imprint Kapuchon Records. To debut the record Sven will broadcast a live set on Kapuchon Records socials Saturday 16th at 10pm CET – don’t miss it.
It was quite the news last November, when Nick van de Wall, aka Afrojack, announced the return of his Kapuchon alias. For years, this project had remained unnoticed after releasing two EP’s in 2009, together with renowned Dutch house and techno DJ/producer Benny Rodrigues. But with a brand new single under his belt, the pulsating tech track ’10 Years Later’, as well as the launch of his own Kapuchon Records, it was clear Van de Wall was ready to officially release new music again.
Kapuchon has always been the artist’s outlet for deeper house and techno productions. It’s music he’s truly passionate about, ever since his first steps into DJ’ing and producing. So even when his Afrojack project took off, the need to explore his Kapuchon sounds never disappeared - continuously producing music for it behind the scenes.
‘Ey’ fully underlines this evolution. Produced together with Dutch DJ/producer Sven Fields, known for his funky and melodic house grooves, it’s a record that builds momentum on a steady tech house beat, infectious bass lines and tasty vocal snippets, drenched in effects.
“Really excited starting the year with this first release, a collab with Kapuchon! Hope you enjoy listening to the track half as much as we enjoyed creating it for you, because we had a blast!” – explains Sven
